Festivals, Fetes and Fairs

There is a festival or fair for every season in Shakespeare’s England, with something for everyone to enjoy including food festivals, arts and culture, musical events, open air cinema, and celebrations of the literary world. Plan your trip around one of these fun-filled events to make your visit even more memorable.

Events & Celebrations

Every April the streets of Stratford-upon-Avon come alive to commemorate the birthday of The Bard, William Shakespeare. With a ceremonial parade attended by dignitaries and members of the community, the town welcomes special guests from across the globe. An array of colourful flags are flown from giant flag poles along Bridge Street as the town celebrates its most famous former resident.

Ragley Hall’s summer calendar of events includes gatherings that appeal to visitors of all ages incorporating music, food, farming, aviation and much more! Highlights include the Game Fair, Dogfest, the Midlands Air Festival, Classic Ibiza and Camper Calling.

Food Festivals

Thanks to annual food festivals in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Kenilworth, Leamington Spa and Alcester (to name a few), there are plenty of opportunities to sample the many wonderful flavours created by local and regional producers.

Music and Words

Stratford Literary Festival in spring, Warwick Folk Festival in the summer, and Warwick Words in the autumn, are just a few events held to celebrate the rich arts and culture scene in Warwickshire.

Christmas Fairs and Markets

At Christmas, Warwickshire’s pretty towns twinkle with thousands of fairy lights to celebrate the festive season. Warwick’s Victorian Christmas Evening and traditional market is a particular highlight, whilst the Christmas light switch on events in our local towns all offer plenty of festive cheer.
